Biography
After working in leadership roles in the non-profit arts, health, and social service sectors for 15 years, Katharine obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996, and practised as a Family Law Trial Lawyer for over 20 years. Her interest in exploring and developing alternative methods of resolving conflict led her to train as a mediator, collaborative lawyer, yoga teacher, and communications coach. Katharine received an MFA with Distinction in Voice Training and Coaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2020. She was certified as a KRI Kundalini Yoga Instructor in 2021. She is trained in the CINERGY model of Conflict Management Coaching.
Katharine now provides voice and communication coaching and kundalini yoga classes through Next Stage Communication Coaching and mediation, conflict management coaching, and collaborative law through Next Stage Conflict Resolution.
What I Do
Katharine conducts voice and communication workshops and one-on-one training for individuals, business and health professionals, lawyers, mediators, teachers, and actors using breath, voice, and mindfulness techniques to create confident presentations and improve personal and professional communications. Workshops include weekend and one-week retreats in North America and abroad.
Offerings
Katharine has spent most of her adult life vocally advocating for others, whether it be through theatrical presentations, speeches, teaching and coaching or presenting a case in a court of law. Through her work with clients and her own personal experience she knows what it means to sometimes feel invisible, silenced or ignored. At times she has also felt the fear and frustration of having her voice disappoint her. After spending several years researching and working with renowned voice professionals and studying Qigong and Kundalini Yoga, Katharine has developed her own method of addressing voice and public speaking concerns using breath and mindfulness techniques, movement, and chant. Voice and Communication Coaching is available one on one to individuals and in group workshops in various environments. She also teaches kundalini yoga classes online and in-person.

Katharine leads nurturing weekend and one-week destination retreats that focus on improving communication and public speaking skills. Workshops are interactive experiences that incorporate breath, voice, and movement techniques designed to free each person’s unique, authentic visible voice.
The pranayama and mantra work that is an essential part of kundalini yoga informs Katharine’s approach to voice and communication training. She provides online and in- person kundalini yoga classes on a regular basis.
