About kundalini yoga
Kundalini yoga is a physical, spiritual, and mindfulness practice that incorporates breath, movement, and meditative chants for the purpose of developing greater physical, mental, and spiritual health and well-being. The practice will benefit anyone regardless of age, flexibility, strength or physical fitness.
Ancient Hindu sages and yogis believed that we all have an invisible coil of energy, ‘kundalini’, which lies dormant but ready to be released or unwound up the spine through physical, mental, and spiritual practice. Kundalini is the spiritual or ‘soul’ nerve that may be awakened in the pursuit of divine consciousness. Kundalini yoga is a vehicle for the release of kundalini energy and the connection to inner spiritual awareness.

Transform your energy with breath and sound.
Our bodies hold our history. The joy and the pain. The stress and the strain.
We need time and opportunity to process, accept and release the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness. It is a somatic, spiritual technology that can help us become more attuned to our own bodies, its needs, and the information and power it has to offer.
Tune into your body and breath with this inspiring eight-session workshop over four weeks. Each class consists of a pranayama (breath exercise) a kriya (a specific set of movements targeting a certain area or system of the body), savasana (a rest to absorb and integrate the kriya) and a meditative, vibratory chant.

A Deeper Look
The “subtle body” which is not visible in a tangible sense, but rather, is a powerful system of vibratory energy. The layers of the subtle body connect with the physical body through a complex network or 72,000 energy channels called nadis. The Sanskrit term nadi comes from nad meaning “flow”, “motion” or “vibration”. The seven main chakras are energy centers in the subtle body that run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and may be viewed as aspects of our consciousness.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates as ‘wheel’ or ‘vortex’. The chakras interact with the physical body through the endocrine and nervous systems. Each chakra energy centre serves a physical, emotional, and spiritual function which affects our thoughts, moods, and physical health. Kundalini yoga and other Eastern practices teach that when the rate of the spin or spiraling energy in any chakra is out of balance or is rotating improperly it will create stress on the connecting chakra and cause misalignment and a fractured flow of energy throughout the body Modifications to the frequency and vibrations of the blocked or misaligned chakras can be achieved through the movement, mantra, and meditations of kundalini yoga.
